Volunteer group creates Angel Gowns for families dealing with the loss of an infant

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- October marks Infant Loss Awareness Month.

One group in Racine is trying to help families who are dealing with the loss by creating beautiful outfits for the babies.

They're called Angel Gowns. The gowns are made from donated wedding dresses. Volunteers then turn them into burial outfits for babies.

Some children are so small that it is nearly impossible to find a proper outfit at a store, so the group makes sure they have nearly every size.

"In the past there wasn't gowns available," Organizer Sally Falaschi said. "That's something they will never forget."

The volunteers meet at Racine's Sew and Save once a week to work on the gowns for little boys and girls gone too soon.
