MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Julia Meehan of Visit Milwaukee joined us Thursday, July 9 with a look ahead at a busy weekend of events across the city.
The Wade x Diener Home Court Weekend, a two-day celebration featuring Milwaukee basketball figures Dwyane Wade and Travis Diener, begins Thursday evening with Cork to Court at Central Standard, where Wade and Diener will serve as guest bartenders. Tickets are available.
The Milwaukee Dragon Boat Festival returns for its 12th year Saturday, July 11 at Henry Maier Festival Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 50 teams and 1,000 paddlers will compete in races held between Lakeshore State Park and the Summerfest grounds, with cultural performances starting at 10 a.m. and championship races around 1:30 p.m. General admission is $5, with proceeds benefiting United Way.
Also Saturday, the Time Travelers Vintage Expo brings dealers from across the country to the Baird Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 in advance or $12 at the door, with children 12 and under free.
Festa Italiana runs all weekend at Henry Maier Festival Park, featuring Italian food, live music, cooking demonstrations, a bocce tournament, the Italian Idol singing competition and fireworks. Admission is $18, with children 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult.
