MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summertime in Milwaukee can be a bit daunting because of the abundance of festivals and events, but for those looking to schedule out some leisurely activities, Ian Thompson of VISIT Milwaukee joined us on Wednesday, July 5 to discuss various summer events set to take place in the Milwaukee area.
Among these events is Wake-Up Wednesdays, hosted by the Milwaukee County Historical Society at Pere Marquette Park on Wednesdays at 7 a.m. through August. The event features yoga sessions led by Elissa Albert of Tribal Yoga School.
Also highlighted were guided tours of the Boerner Botanical Gardens for older adults. The tours are sponsored by Milwaukee County Aging and Disabilities Services and are free for adults ages 60 and over.
The Hop Streetcar Tour, presented by Historic Milwaukee, Inc., allows visitors to explore Milwaukee's history and urban development. The tour is handicap accessible and requires pre-registration.
QuizMaster Thursday Trivia is being held at Pilot Project Brewing, where participants can enjoy food, beers and trivia every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Bayshore Family Flicks is a free family-friendly movie series taking place at The Yard at Bayshore on Wednesday evenings, starting at 5 p.m., featuring food trucks and pop-up vendors. The animated film "Rumble" will be shown on Wednesday.
