MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With a stamp, a village of tiny homes is officially coming to Milwaukee's northwest side.
The new homes will be reserved for veterans.
Alderwoman Chantia Lewis, a veteran herself, talked about the importance of helping these hometown heroes.
"If I didn't have a support system in place, I could have been a homeless veteran," Ald. Lewis said. "It is that easy for us to literally be set by the wayside and just forgotten about."
The Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin will develop the Veteran Village, which will include 48 new homes and a community center.
