KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A wild winter ride was captured on I-94 in Kenosha County Saturday night, Jan. 30.
Cellphone video shows at least three people riding snowmobiles on I-94 southbound in the Village of Somers.
Josh Rhodus, who shot the cellphone video, said the snowmobile riders got on the highway near the Amazon warehouse in Kenosha, and traveling all the way to Indiana.
It's something you may see only in Wisconsin however, it is not allowed by law. According to Wisconsin snowmobile laws, operating on any part of the freeway is not allowed:
"You cannot operate a snowmobile upon any part of any freeway which is a part of the federal system of interstate and defense highways or on any part of any other freeway unless the DOT authorizes snowmobile use on that freeway. Under most circumstances you cannot operate a snowmobile on any highway or road."
