Victory Gardens Initiative Builds Garden Beds at Habitat for Humanity Homes

Two households now have the ability to grow their own food thanks to the Victory Gardens Initiative.

They installed gardening beds at two homes on the city's northwest side.

The Victory Gardens Initiative wants to give people in food deserts the ability to grow their own produce.

The beds installed Thursday were at homes built by Habitat for Humanity.

The Victory Gardens Initiative is also partnered with United Health Care.

They see the gardens as a type of preventative care providing people access to healthy, fresh foods.
