Veteran's Park closed to public due to heavy rains, Harley-Davidson 115th Anniversary Parade still on

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Due to heavy rains Saturday night, Veteran's Park is closed to the public on Sunday, according to Harley-Davidson officials.

Event organizers say the Harley-Davidson 115th Anniversary Parade is on and will follow the planned route through downtown and along Lincoln Memorial Drive. Parade riders may continue north on Lincoln Memorial Drive and bypass Veteran's Park at the end of the route.

If they choose to do so, parade riders may park, pick up their HOG 35th Anniversary pins and access limited food and beverage services as well as restrooms at Veteran's Park from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

All other activities at Veteran's Park will not be available due to the conditions of the grounds.

Riders and visitors are encouraged to take part in the activities at the Harley-Davidson Museum, the seven local Harley-Davidson dealers, as well as visiting the beer gardens at South Shore Terrance and Whitnall Park.
