Brown Deer Police tried to stop a vehicle during a traffic stop but the vehicle was driving well over 100 mph.

According to police, an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Ford Fusion that was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound in the 7600 block of N. Teutonia Ave.

The vehicle fled from the officer and traveled southbound on N. Sherman Blvd., after striking the curb on the south side of N. Sherman Blvd. with its driver's side front tire.

The fleeing vehicle accelerated to well over 100 mph and extinguished all its lights. The officer did not pursue the vehicle for safety reasons.

The Milwaukee Police Department located an unoccupied white Ford Fusion in the 4300 block of W. Custer Ave. minutes after our officer attempted to stop the vehicle.

Officers determined the owner of the vehicle to be a 27 year old female resident. The female claimed she did not know who was driving her vehicle and gave consent for officers to tow, search, and process her vehicle.
