Vandals behead Caledonia elementary school mascot

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia police are looking for vandals who removed and ran off with the head of Clifford the Gator, an elementary school mascot.
Clifford stands in front of Gifford Elementary School in Caledonia.
Unknown actors removed the mascot's head overnight, just days before this weekend's annual Gifford Carnival, according to police.
Someone pulled the same stunt in 2005 and after the act made the news, the head was returned.
Police are hoping for the same outcome this time.
