Van vs. deer crash in Caledonia serves as reminder to watch for wildlife

CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A driver had a scary experience in the village of Caledonia Monday morning, March 1. 

Caledonia police posted pictures to Facebook showing the result of a minivan colliding with a deer on State Highway 31. 

The deer jumped in front and smashed the windshield and roof. The deer died. 

The driver had only minor cuts due to the broken glass and was able to stop the vehicle safely and call for help. 

A reminder to be alert for wildlife while driving.
