UWM police chief fired, CBS 58 obtains online conversation with student

MILWAUKEE -- The UWM Campus Chief has now been fired after an investigation of inappropriate conversations with a student. CBS 58's Bottom Line Team has uncovered details of that conversation.

CBS 58's Investigative Reporter Sarah Barwacz has been digging into that Reddit conversation and found messages from Marzion to a student saying \"I'm a bit of a voyeur and a fan of the female form.\"

The student says he also inquired \"What's the strangest way you've earned a buck.\" The student said \"I've pretended to be people's girlfriends/dates for events.\"

Marzion also requested a photo and when she sent one with clothing on he said \"less clothes, more smile, sensuality.\"

Still documents show the female student kept communicating with Marzion after investigators told her to stop.

Students we spoke with on campus were shocked that a campus chief would be part of something inappropriate.

Kristin McCormick, a student said, \"I think they both played a part but I think it's wrong of him and it's his job, and should have known better than to do that.\"

Patrick Adams ll, a student says, \"Definitely think it was inappropriate for him to be asking for nude photos because of the position he was in.\"

UWM's Public Relations Office says, \"They don't comment on personnel matters.\"

But they told us Marzion was demoted from Chief to Captain in late August while he was investigated, and on Friday was terminated.

UWM's Code of Conduct says the person in a position of power is most accountable, even if it's consensual. To see the full story watch CBS 58 News at 10 PM.
