UW grad wins Nobel Prize in Medicine

An alum of the University of Wisconsin has been awarded a Nobel Prize this morning. William Campbell, along with two other scientists, has been given the award in medicine. The group discovered a new drug which has helped fight infections caused by roundworm parasites and malaria. Campbell got his Ph.D. from Wisconsin in 1957 and currently teaches at a university in New Jersey.
