MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The USA Triathlon's Sprint and Paratriathlon Nationals in Milwaukee scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 10, has been canceled. 

In a post on social media, the USA Triathlon said, "in partnership with the city of Milwaukee and with local authorities, emergency services, and our safety teams, together we determined that the combination of potential water conditions, flooding and course damage throughout the course, limited emergency response teams to support the event, as well as impending weather for Sunday, makes it impossible for us to safely hold Sunday’s Paratriathlon and Sprint Distance National Championships."

The USA Triathlon stressed their disappointment with the decision saying, "This was not the outcome any of us wanted."
