U.S. Education Department says more than 300,000 people were given incorrect information about student loans

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The U.S. Education Department says more than 300,000 people were given incorrect information regarding student loans, as payments resumed this month.
The agency had told servicers to let the affected borrowers know and put them in forbearance until correct payment amounts are calculated.
Some of the affected people were on a new income-driven plan from the Biden Administration, including some who, under the plan, should not have any payment.
