Upwelling of Support for Philippine Typhoon Victims

(Milwaukee)--We may never know the true extent of damage from last week's typhoon to hit the Philippines, but we do know people are opening their hearts and purse strings to assist the victims.

The agencies willing to help are endless, including the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, and the local Philippine Center in Greenfield.  You can also text donations, making it so much easier. (We have helpful links posted under our newslinks tab.)

The experts say the best thing to donate is money.  It can get there faster and be distributed more effectively.  They also say to be very careful where and how you make donations.  The last thing you want to get is scammed.  Go with your instinct.  If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

AT&T also announced through the end of the month, its customers will be waived many calling and texting fees if they are reaching out to friends and loved ones in the Philippines.  Make sure to contact your local provider for more information.
