UPDATE: Man Found Shot Dead in West Allis after Welfare Check

During the afternoon hours of Friday, December 23, the West Allis Police Department received a call to check on the welfare of a possibly missing person who resided in the 2500 block of S. 88th Street. When officers arrived they found a 27-year-old man who was dead.
The preliminary investigation led detectives to believe the man died from gunshot wounds. Throughout the course of the day,detectives and officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the death of the man. A suspect has been taken into custody in the incident and there is no danger to the public.
