MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) - The Universities of Wisconsin system has confirmed that some UW regents recently had their homes vandalized, while others had "Free Palestine" notes on them.
In a statement provided by spokesperson Mark Pitsch, the UW System condemns the vandalism:
"This kind of conduct is not free expression or protected speech; it’s dangerous, unlawful, and unacceptable. We have contacted the authorities and are working closely with them. Anyone with information regarding these illegal activities should contact local law enforcement authorities and the UW-Madison Police Department."
The UW-Madison Police Department told CBS 58 that the department is not investigating these cases as they occurred off-campus, but they are acting as a resource to help coordinate and route information to the appropriate investigative agencies.
