Union Grove man arrested after posing with stolen dirt bike on Snapchat

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Union Grove man is facing charges for his alleged role in a burglary.

Todd Kerkman, 48, is facing charges of concealing a stolen firearm and concealing stolen property.

Deputies responded to a home on Three Mile Road in Franksville for a burglary report in December of last year.

The victim told police that three of his dirt bikes were missing along with many Dewalt tools.

The total estimated value of the missing items was $12,000.

Through the course of the investigation, authorities learned that Kerkman had told a number of people about a burglary he was involved with where dirt bikes and tools were taken.

Kerkman had allegedly taken two Snapchats of him sitting on a 2009 Yamaha inside of a garage near a green and white Kawasaki dirt bike that the victim confirmed belonged to him.

Officers spoke with Kerkmann who confirmed being involved in the burglaries with two juveniles. He said he planned to give the dirt bikes to a family member to sell at a rummage sale.
