MUSKEGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A memorial has been set up near the scene of a crash that killed an 18-year-old in Muskego.

Police have identified the teen as Trevor Hampton of Wind Lake. His grandfather says he was a great kid who loved baseball, the outdoors, and had many friends. Police say Hampton was driving southbound when his vehicle hit a truck traveling northbound.

A 17-year-old passenger in Hampton's vehicle was treated and released from the hospital. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Police released video because witnesses reported seeing a vehicle pull out of the Old Muske Settlement Center in front of Hampton's car causing him to lose control and veer into oncoming traffic, hitting the truck.

Police say a witness described the vehicle as possibly a white Chevy Cobalt with gold trim on the back of the vehicle. The driver may also have had dark, curly hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Muskego Police Department. Hampton's grandpa is also hoping someone will come forward with information.

"He was a good kid. He had a lot of friends. Very popular kid and it's so tragic, I just, it wasn't his fault that's the thing and we're all gonna miss him," Ron Richwalski, Hampton's grandfather said.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Hampton.

Visitation for Hampton will be held Monday, June 17, at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W Janesville Rd Hales Corners, 53130, from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m.
