Two Racine men charged in double shooting, allegedly fired at least 20 times at victims

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two men have now been in charged with a double shooting in Racine.

Curtis Petty and Lavon Brown, both 33-years-old, are facing charges of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide.

According to the criminal complaint, Petty and Brown fired several bullets at two victims and their vehicle prior to fleeing the scene.

It happened in the 1400 block of S. Memorial Drive on July 29.

Witnesses reported that a hit-and-run with shots fired occurred and numerous shell casings were discovered at the scene.

At the hospital, officers learned that one victim was shot in the head and the other was shot in the leg.

One of the victims was able to identify as one of the suspects. The victim told police that he and the other victim were shot at "at least 20 times." The victims were able to get to a hospital after being shot.

The other victim was able to tell police that their vehicle was chased down while being fired upon.

Numerous bullet holes were found in the victim's vehicle.

A witness came forward to tell police that Petty had said he had "done something bad" and would be leaving for a while.

Officers located the suspect's vehicle which matched the description given by witnesses and the victims.
