Two Milwaukee Teens with Lengthy Criminal Pasts Arrested for Riverwest Carjacking

Two teenagers with arrest records dating back to 2012 and 2013 were allegedly involved in a carjacking that occurred in Riverwest on Saturday around 5:15 PM in the 2600 block of N. Bremen Street.

Milwaukee Police officers arrested two suspects, including a convicted felon, following the carjacking in the Riverwest neighborhood.

The victim, a 57-year-old male, told officers two male suspects approached him, pointed a gun at him, and demanded his car keys. T

he suspects then fled in the victim’s 2013 Kia Sportage.

Less than an hour later, the Sportage was spotted in the 3300 block of N. 27th Street and officers tried to stop the car but it fled and officers pursued it.

The Sportage was involved in a crash near N. 21st Street and W. North Avenue a few minutes later.

According to police, the passenger of the car, a 17-year-old Milwaukee male, fled from the vehicle and was quickly taken into custody.

The driver, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man, continued to flee police in the Sportage for a short distance before running from the car. He was taken into custody in the 1900 block of N. 24th Street. Both suspects face potential charges of Armed Robbery, Fleeing an Officer, Resisting an Officer, and Driving/Operating a Vehicle without Owner’s Consent. The 17-year-old suspect has an arrest history dating back to 2012 and the 18-year-old is a convicted felon with an arrest history dating back to 2013.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
