WASHINGTON COUNTY (CBS 58) – Two people are hurt after a crash in Washington County on Wednesday.
At 4:38 p.m., the sheriff’s department was notified of a possible impaired driver going northbound on State Highway 45 near Highway 145. Around 4:45 p.m., authorities were notified the vehicle crossed the median and hit a southbound vehicle head-on. The vehicle that was hit started on fire but was quickly extinguished.
The driver of the northbound car was taken to the hospital and later flown by Flight for Life. The other driver was also taken to the hospital. Authorities say driver impairment appears to be a factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
