Two dead in semi vs car crash on I-94 near Pleasant Prairie

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (CBS 58) --- The identites of the two people killed in the crash are now being released.

They are identified as 32-year-old Tony Ely and 22-year-old Monica Miller.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (CBS 58) --- The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a double fatal semi versus passenger car crash on I-94 near Pleasant Prairie just before midnight Tuesday, Dec. 29.

The incident occcured westbound near CTH ML in Kenosha County.

Officials say upon arrival a State Trooper observed two occupants in the passenger car. One was dead upon arrival. The other occupant was seriously injured and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the semi was not injured. 

The State Patrol is performing a post-crash inspection of the semi and a reconstruction is being performed by a State Patrol Traffic Reconstructionist. 

Suspected marijuana and unknown pills were located in the vehicle of the victims and both victims identities are unknown, officials say. The Medical Examiner is currently working on identifying the victims. 

The investigation is ongoing.
