(CBS 58) -- The $600 stimulus payments some taxpayers were expecting have been delayed.

It’s impacting some who used tax preparation services like TurboTax or H&R Block.

Melissa Davis said she used TurboTax and was expecting a stimulus payment in her bank account.

“Receiving the stimulus would have given me some breathing room. It would have given me an opportunity to say, ‘okay, I can pay off last month’s rent and not be struggling and not be anxious," Davis, a Pewaukee resident and single mother of two, said.

She received the first stimulus, but then read this from the IRS.

“So I get like the two options of either I don’t qualify for this payment or there’s not enough information," she added.

The IRS says people can check their status on its “Get My Payment” website.

Those seeing “Payment Status #2 - Not Available” will not get a second stimulus payment.

Instead the IRS says they will have to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2020 tax returns.

“2020 has proved that things wont go smoothly for really anyone in America right now, and so telling us we can get the money faster by filing taxes seems irrelevant," Davis said.

TurboTax now has a section on its website for customers who have not gotten their money.

H&R Block told CBS 58 they expect the remaining direct deposits to arrive in their customer’s bank accounts on Wednesday, Jan. 6.

They also have updates on their website for customers.

In a statement they told CBS 58: "H&R Block understands stimulus checks are vitally important for millions of Americans. The IRS determines where second stimulus payments were sent, and in some cases, money was sent to a different account than the first stimulus payment last spring. We immediately deposited millions of stimulus payments to customers’ bank accounts and onto our Emerald Prepaid Mastercard® yesterday, and all direct deposits are being processed. If the IRS Get My Payment website displays an account number a customer doesn’t recognize, H&R Block customer service agents are ready to help with additional information at 800-HRBLOCK and @HRBlockAnswers on Twitter."
