Tuberculosis case confirmed in West Allis

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A case of tuberculosis has been identified in West Allis, the West Allis Health Department confirmed Friday. 

A public health nurse with the health department says the patient is isolated and being tested under the care of a doctor. Other people who may have come in contact with the individual are also being tested, however, health officials say there is no danger to the community. 

The individual's identity and their place of work has not been released to protect their privacy.

Tuberculosis is a potentially dangerous disease that mainly affects a person's lungs. It's commonly spread through coughing and sneezing.
