TSA intercepts 3 handguns at Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport in 1 week

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The TSA says its officers stopped three passengers from carrying handguns onto flights at Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport. 

The three separate incidents happened last week.

Two of the guns were loaded, and one of them carried 15 rounds. 

Two of the passengers were given tickets. 

A third was escorted to the sheriff's office substation at the airport. 

So far this year, 23 guns have been intercepted at the TSA checkpoint compared with 10 last year and 19 in 2019.
