MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The 14th annual Fatherhood Summit is being held in Milwaukee Friday and Saturday.
The annual event aims to help support men in their roles as fathers. The event is being held at Milwaukee Area Technical College's downtown campus in the Student Center.
There are booths set up with resources for dads. Several different groups, agencies and businesses are participating to help fathers with education, job training, child support and employment.
New this year, a father and son panel was held to provide practical relationship advice.
Around 1,000 men are expected to attend the two-day event.
"We're trying to better our lives," Father and Fatherhood Summit volunteer Alberto Medellin said. "We're trying to make a better example for our children and this is the perfect opportunity... I've made a lot of mistakes in my life and I'm just trying to bounce back."
Attendees can register in person. The event will be held until 4 p.m. on Friday and take place 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday.
