Traffic switch set for I-41/US 45 bridge work in Washington County

Wisconsin Department of Transportation crews are scheduled to enact a southbound traffic switch at the I-41/US 45 split in Washington County on late Sunday evening, September 27.

This switch allows traffic to be placed on the newly constructed roadway, giving crews the opportunity to reconstruct the other portion of the bridge. This milestone signifies the halfway point for the month-long project.

The number of lanes restricted will remain the same, with the two lanes on I-41 and on US 45, being down one lane each. Following the merge where the roadway is normally three lanes, it will continue to be down to two.

The closures will be in place prior to the Monday morning commute.

The alternate route remains the same. Exit the freeway at WIS 60 and proceed west to WIS 164. Go south on WIS 164 to connect with WIS 175. Travel south on WIS 175 to rejoin the freeway at the Holy Hill Road Interchange.
