BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) – Retailer Toys 'R' Us plans to close its Brookfield Babies 'R' Us location.
The move is part of a proposal by the company, which declared bankruptcy in September, to close as many as 182 locations, with at least half of those being Babies 'R' Us locations. A Babies 'R' Us location in Madison is also slated to close.
Lawyers for the company say shutting down stores is due to increased market competition. They also said sales have dropped due to online shopping.
Court approval is still needed to move forward with the closures.
