NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBS 58) --- Today marks eight years since the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut.
On Dec. 14, 2012, 26 people, including 20 young children and six staff members, were gunned down.
It is one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.
There are usually remembrance events across the country in honor of the victims. However, that may look a little different this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
