Thousands participate in 16th annual Susan G Komen Race For The Cure

MILWAUKEE--Pink filled the Milwaukee Lakefront this weekend.

Thousands of people put on some pink and their tennis shoes to take part in the 16th annual Susan G Komen Race For The Cure. Around 15,000 people ran or walked  to support the survivors and to remember those who lost their lives to breast cancer.

One survivor says overcoming breast cancer is one of the toughest things she's ever done.

\"It's the most devastating call you can ever get, I believe, it's the one that comes through after the biopsy and you hear them tell you have cancer,\" said Peggy Human.

She agrees early detection is key.
