MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Thousands came together Sunday for the sixth annual Puerto Rican Family Festival in Milwaukee’s Humboldt Park.
The event featured a salsa dance contest, home run derby, domino contest and car show.
The event also offered help to people who recently arrived in the area after being displaced by Hurricane Maria last fall.
“Job placements, homes, food, a little bit of everything to get some of those families that have moved from Puerto Rico to Wisconsin help,” Organizer Yussef Morales said. “Get them a little more comfortable.”
Organizers hoped to have more than 10,000 people attend the festival.
