Wauwatosa (CBS 58)--Most flower shops will tell you they love Mother’s Day just as much as Valentine’s Day. If not more. This is one of the busiest times of year for florists. We spoke with Deb Fowler of “The Flower Lady” in Wauwatosa who’s been in business for 25 years. She says it’s pretty much non-stop between now and Sunday as people place their orders for bouquets and arrangements. She says this weekend is so big because her product is tailored toward such a wide audience.
In terms of caring for your flowers, the experts recommend doing a water change at least once a week and making sure the leaves aren't floating in the water, potentially creating more bacteria.
The National Retail Federation estimates we’ll be spending $25 billion on flowers for Mother’s Day alone. This is a record amount.
