"The Life & Music of Woody Guthrie for Ukulele" with Lil' Rev

Cascio Interstate Music SuperStore, 13819 W. National Avenue in New Berlin, presents award-winning multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and music historian Lil' Rev in a FREE ukulele workshop on Saturday, March 15 from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Bring your uke and enjoy a rollicking afternoon of strumming with ukulele master Lil' Rev, as he explores the life and music of the American Balladeer, Woody Guthrie. Woody's iconic status as the original balladeer offers up a wonderful opportunity to strum and sing what many regard as classic American roots music.

Open to all levels, you'll learn a few new strokes and sing a dozen songs. Lil' Rev will follow the workshop with a live concert demonstrating many different ukulele styles and instruments.

Lil' Rev describe himself as \"a deep-rooted musician / songwriter / instrumentalist / storyteller / historian / interpreter of traditional Americana music and culture.\" Lil' Rev grew up in Milwaukee, WI where he still resides today. Lil' Rev has written over 8 instructional ukulele books for Hal Leonard, while touring North America extensively.

His heroes include: Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Josh White, Sonny Terry, Cicso Houston and Leadbelly. While Lil' Rev is well known for his ukulele and harmonica stylings, he is also a seasoned multi-instrumentalist equally adept at old time banjo, flat-pick guitar and blues mandolin.
