The Green Bay Packers announce roster moves

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Green bay Packers announced its roster moves Saturday, Sept. 5.

It is the team's final moves to get down to a 53 man roster. The NFL requires team to streamline rosters by 4:00 p.m.

Nearly 900 players throughout the league have been released leading up to the deadline. The good news for anyone losing a job is that practice squads are expanding to 16 players this season meaning that players who were cut have the potential of getting picked up on team’s practice squads.

According to a news release, the Packers have released the following players: 

• DaShaun Amos 

• Krys Barnes

• Evan Baylis

• Reggie Begelton

• Henry Black

• Cody Conway

• Damarea Crockett

• Tipa Galeai

• Jake Hanson

• Zack Johnson

• Jake Kumerow

• John Leglue

• Alex Light

• John Lovett

• Willington Previlon

• Greg Roberts

• Stanford Samuels

• Delontae Scott

• Darrius Shepherd

• Malik Turner

• Dexter Williams

• Tim Williams

The team has placed Curtis Bolton on reserve/physically unable to perform. According to officials, Simon Stepaniak and Patrick Taylor are also on reserve/non-football injury. Treyvon Hester and Will Sunderland are on waived/injured. 

Officials say the transactions were announced Saturday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
