'The Future is Ours': Milwaukee's Pride Parade returns June 4 for largest celebration in its history

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Pride Parade is set to return next Sunday, June 4, in Walker's Point.

The 2023 event, "The Future is Ours," will mark the largest celebration in the parade's history, with more than 150 units participating. The theme represents "optimism for progress in spite of adversity," according to a release. 

The parade steps off at 2 p.m. and will proceed north on S. 2nd Street for about a mile, beginning at Greenfield Avenue and ending at Seeboth Street. Grand Marshals will a number of local drag entertainers, including Dita Von, Dev S. Tate, Miss Spencer, Marbella Sodi, Shannon DuPree, Chanel D’Vine, Leo Long, Dear Ruthie, Noel the Gentleman, Maple Veneer and Richard Fitswell.

“It’s a testament to the love and acceptance abundant in our community that this will be our biggest parade yet,” says Wyatt Tinder, board member. “We welcome everyone, no matter their gender or sexuality, to join us for this joyous, inclusive celebration.”

Milwaukee's PrideFest festival takes place Thursday, June 1-Saturday, June 3.
