'That was my whole world': Woman loses everything in Salem Lakes house fire
Muchka SALEM LAKES, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Salem Lakes mother is being forced to start over after she lost everything in a house fire.
“You know, I look at it and I’m like, I started a business there, I got my life together there, like that was my whole world," said Angelique Muchka.
As Muchka looks at what's left of her home, she can’t help but fight back tears.
"I thought I was going to die in this house. And it was small and you know, but it was mine, and I love my neighbors and I never wanted to leave," said Muchka.
Early Saturday morning, her 20-year-old son, Jesus, called her panicking as he woke up to the house in flames.
"He's like no, it’s fire, it’s on fire," said Muchka.
When she came home, she couldn't believe the sight of massive flames coming through the roof and smoke pouring out of the window.
"The fire spread and it went quick," said Muchka. "Flames were shooting out of the windows and I’ve lived here for six years. That’s my whole life. That’s my small business, that’s my animals, like it’s something that I don’t wish anybody to ever have to go through."
While her son was able to get out safely, she says two of her cats and one of her dogs were killed.
"I literally lost my mind, like I can’t give you one, any one feeling," said Muchka.
She had all of her supplies for her self-run business "Angels of Eden," creating and selling organic skin care products, inside.
Now, she says she's doing everything she can to start again, with the help of her neighbors.
"I lost everything so that God could give me something better is the way I just have to put it," said Muchka. "That’s just what I have to say to myself."
There's a GoFundMe to support Muchka here.
