Teens charged in relation to Milwaukee armed robbery spree

MILWAUKEE -- Four teenage armed robbery suspects have been criminally charged for a series of robberies across the City of Milwaukee. 18-year-old Rocarldo Chalmers, 18-year-old Isiah Thomas, 17-year-old Anthony Griffis, and 18-year-old Pariss Crossley are all facing criminal charges for their alleged roles in multiple armed robberies and carjackings.

According to Rocarldo Chalmers' criminal complaint, Chalmers and D.S., a juvenile police have not fully named, allegedly robbed a man of his 2006 Jeep Cherokee near 19th and Fond du Lac Ave. on September 9. The victim told police two black males, later identified as Chalmers and D.S. Chalmers allegedly said, \"Give me your f------ keys and your phone!\" The victim told police Chalmers was carrying a small sledgehammer.

The criminal complaint says victim didn't take the boys seriously at first, but later noticed a silver Dodge Durango with three black males nearby. Once the victim saw one of the males exiting the vehicle with a gun, he gave the teens his keys.

Milwaukee police report spotting the Jeep Cherokee near N. 63rd St. and W. Lawn Ave. around 10:30 p.m. on September 9. Police say Chalmers was driving the Jeep Cherokee as officers pursued. Chalmers made 43 turns during the 14.75 mile chase. Police officers eventually lost sight of the Jeep, but citizens told police where they could find the Jeep. Officers spotted two teens exiting the vehicle. Those two teens told police Chalmers was the one they were chasing. Police found the sledgehammer used in the robbery of the Jeep Cherokee near 19th and Fond du Lac Ave.

Chalmers admitted to investigators of leading Milwaukee police officers on a chase though Milwaukee. He also admitted to paying someone $10 to take him out of the area to 35th and Burleigh St.

In the criminal complaint police say the silver Dodge Durango seen by the victim was stolen from a woman hours before the 6:30 p.m. robbery on 19th and Fond du Lac Ave. The Dodge Durango was recovered in a parking lot near N. Sherman Blvd. and W. Florist Ave. on September 10. Police say they found the property of the man who was robbed near 19th and Fond du Lac outside the Dodge Durango. Witnesses say they saw the teens transferring things from the Dodge Durango to the Jeep Cherokee before driving off in the Jeep Cherokee.
