Teenager Arrested in South Side Burglaries; Maybe Responsible for Bayview Car Window Smashings
A Milwaukee teenager confessed to police for committing to two burglaries on the City’s South Side.
District Six officers arrested the 16-year-old Milwaukee male at his home in the 1200 block of S. 12th Street on January 12 after receiving information that he could be involved in the recent burglaries and several instances of criminal damage to property.
During an interview with detectives, the teen confessed to being involved in two garage burglaries on January 6, one in the 3700 block of S. Logan Avenue and the other in the 3800 block of South Pine Avenue.
The teen implicated some of his co-actors in the burglary in additional criminal damage to property crimes that same day. MPD is also investigating whether this group could be responsible for incidents where car windows were smashed in the Bay View neighborhood in late December.
The 16-year-old suspect was transported to the Milwaukee County Children’s Center and the case against him will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
