Ted Thompson on NFL's ultimatum: "We're gonna support our players"

Packers General Manager Ted Thompson said that both Julius Peppers and Clay Matthews have the team's support after the NFL told them they must interview with them by August 25th or face suspension.

“We’re going to support our players, we’ve always supported our players and we will continue to support our players,” Thompson said at his availability Tuesday in Green Bay.

Through a letter to the NFL Players Association, the league issued the ultimatum to the Packers, Pittsburgh Steele rs linebacker James Harrison and former Packers linebacker and current free agent Mike Neal in light of allegations of performance-enhancing drug use in an Al Al-Jazeera documentary in December.

If they do not cooperate, the NFL says they will suspend the players until they do cooperate for detrimental conduct.
