Teachers, others in Phase 1B now eligible for COVID-19 vaccine under Wisconsin guidelines

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Beginning March 1, teachers and others in Phase 1B will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the state, first priority in 1B is educators and child care staff, followed by long-term Medicaid enrollees and public-facing essential workers, non-frontline health care workers and facility staff and residents in congregate living settings.
The new eligibility comes as state leaders say the vaccine supply still does not match demand. Many are hopeful that could change with the recent FDA approval of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The Wisconsin COVID-19 vaccine registry also opens March 1. That means people can register and schedule vaccines locally.
