MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Ian Thompson of VISIT Milwaukee joined us on Thursday, Sept. 14 to spotlight a packed weekend of events and festivals in Milwaukee and surrounding areas.
Tacos and Tequila Fest is set to take place at Franklin Field on Saturday, Sept. 16. The festival features a lineup of hip-hop legends including Nelly, Fat Joe and Chingy, among others. Attendees can also look forward to over 100 chef-inspired tacos, handcrafted margaritas and activities like a chihuahua beauty pageant and Lucha Libre wrestling.
Also taking place on Sept. 16 is Mobtoberfest, a Wisconsin spin on the German Oktoberfest. Hosted from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the event will have German-inspired food, live music and games. Registration will also take place for contests such as beer chugging and stein holding.
For those looking for art and local produce, the Cedarburg Wine and Harvest Festival runs from Sept. 16 to Sept. 17 in Downtown Cedarburg. The festival, celebrating its 50th year, draws nearly 80,000 attendees to enjoy local wines, live music and purchase artwork from local artists.
Sunday Family Fun Day on Sept. 17 festival grounds in Northwestern Mutual Community Park. The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offer activities for all ages including performances by local arts and community groups, face painting and food trucks.
