Sweet AppleWood Festival in Cudahy to end after 22 years
CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- After a 22 year run, the Cudahy Lions Club has decided to retire the Sweet AppleWood Festival.
"This was not an easy decision," the Cudahy Lions Club said in a news release.
The club says many factors played into the decision but overall money and manpower needed was the biggest factors.
"It is just getting harder and more costly to put on a large event like the Sweet AppleWood Festival," the Cudahy Lions Club wrote. "The economics of festivals have changed over time and the financial risks have risen to a point that we feel it is better to seek other fund raising ventures."
The Cudahy Lions Club says they've had tremendous support from the community since the start of the festival 22 years ago.
"Thank you all for making the Sweet AppleWood Festival a success for over 20 years," the club said.
