Suspicious fire in abandoned house in Racine

Racine officials believe a fire in an abandoned home early Sunday morning was intentionally set.   According to the Racine Fire Department, neighbors reported the fire around 5:45 AM in a house located on Superior Street between Albert and Hamilton Streets.    When firefighters arrived they discovered the fire at the rear of the building and had it under control within 15 minutes.    No one was injured in the fire.  The building is abandoned, and according to fire officials there were no utilities serving the house.   The building has also been ordered to be torn down.   Damage is estimated at $6,000.  The Racine Police are investing the cause of the fire.
