OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities responded to downtown Oconomowoc on Tuesday, March 4, for a report of a suspicious package.
Oconomowoc Police Chief James Pfister said officers were called to Oconomowoc City Hall on East Wisconsin Avenue, around 10:15 a.m.
Chief Pfister got a look at the package before the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad arrived and after seeing it for himself, he called for an evacuation.
"It looked similar to a bomb, explosive device. That's what it was that we got us to believe it was suspicious. This is an ongoing investigation so I can't release the exact details of what was in the box at this time," Pfister said.
Pfister went on to say he expects to have more details in the next couple days once the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad is able to complete their work.
