A man wanted for a bank robbery in the Village of Shorewood has been arrested.
Whitefish Bay Police say the suspect vehicle fled and crashed into a tree at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Chateau Pl.
"The driver was quickly taken into custody and the other suspect was apprehended with the assistance of the Glendale Police K9 unit," began a statement from WFB Police. "Due to safety concerns schools in the area were advised to lock down and keep students inside. All suspects were taken into custody and schools were advised the lock down could be lifted."
Police cars were positioned outside the TCF Bank Near Oakland and Olive around the lunch hour.
Initial reports said he got away on foot.
Now we know there was a getaway vehicle and an accomplice.
