Suspect that Caused Mall Evacuation near Appleton was Arrested in Minnesota

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man who prompted an evacuation of a mall in eastern Wisconsin filled with hundreds of shoppers.

Grand Chute police say the 28-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in a parking lot in Minnesota.

The Fox River Mall was evacuated Tuesday night after police got a call that an armed man could possibly be in the building. Officers searched the mall but did not locate the man. No one was hurt. It took about two hours to get hundreds of shoppers out of the mall.
