Suspect Robbed Walgreens by Knife point in the 3500 Block of West Wisconsin

A man was arrested for an armed robbery at a West Side business minutes after the crime occurred.

District Three officers responded to the Walgreens located at 3522 W. Wisconsin Avenue around 3:35 AM on January 10 where an employee told officers that a man came up to the register with items, pointed a knife at her, and fled from the store with those items.

Around ten minutes later, officers on patrol near North 33rd Street and West State Street saw a man matching the description of the subject.

They stopped the man and found several of the stolen items in a Walgreens bag that he had dropped.

Officers also located the knife believed to have been used in the crime in a nearby snowbank.

The suspect, a 49-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody. He is a convicted felon with a criminal record dating back to 1990. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
