Suspect Arrested in Armed Robbery near Marquette Campus

A 55-year-old male suspect was arrested by Milwaukee Police in connection with the December 5 armed robbery at the Jimmy John’s near Marquette Campus.

The restaurant is located at 1532 W. Wells Street and December 5 attempted strong armed robbery at the Real Chili, 419 E. Wells Street. 

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days. 

The Marquette University Police Department and Milwaukee Police Department investigated an armed robbery to a business that occurred Friday night around 10:30 PM.

The incident happened at the Jimmy Johns located in the 1500 block of W. Wells Street.

According to Marquette University Police, the suspect entered the business, implied he had a weapon and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect got the money from the register and fled westbound on W. Wells Street. 

No employees were injured during the incident.
