36-year-old woman dies days after being shot by man near 17th and Capitol

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 36-year-old woman who was shot near 17th and Capitol on Sunday, Oct. 20, has died from her injuries. 

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office confirms Candice Buford passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30 just before 7 a.m.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31. 

Milwaukee police say Buford was shot by a 39-year-old man during circumstances that are still under investigation.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A suspect has been taken into custody for shooting a woman near 17th and Capitol.

It happened around 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20.

According to police, the 36-year-old woman was shot by a 39-year-old man during circumstances that are still under investigation.

The suspect was arrested on scene and a firearm was recovered.

The victim is being treated for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
